<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an indwelling needle assembly with which the tip of a needle of an inner needle can be covered after it is used with an easy operation, and disposal of wastes is highly safe. <P>SOLUTION: This indwelling needle assembly 1 includes: the inner needle 31; a protector 4 mounted on the inner needle 31; a hollow over needle into which the inner needle 31 is inserted; an outer needle hub 22 which is placed at the proximal end of the outer needle, and has a recessed part 221 on the inner peripheral surface; and a connecting material 7 having a C shape part 71. The engaging material 7 is engaged with the outer needle hub 22 by inserting the outer peripheral part of the C shape part 71 to the recessed part 221 in an assembled state, so that the protector 4 is connected to the outer needle hub 22. In the case that the inner needle 31 is moved in the proximal end direction relatively to the outer needle hub 22, the protector 4 is turned to the second position that covers the tip 311 of the inner needle 31. In the case that the inner needle 31 is further moved in the proximal end direction relatively to the outer needle hub 22, the engaging material 7 is deformed, so that engagement with the recessed part 221 is released.
