<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating, and a sliding member, to which the coating is formed, capable of maintaining a low friction coefficient and high hardness for a long time at low manufacturing costs. <P>SOLUTION: In this sliding member 10, a coating 20 is formed to a sliding face 16a slidably contacting an opposing member 25, and lubricating oil 30 containing molybdenum and sulfur is supplied to the sliding face. Steel material power and the like 19 are added to polyamideimide resin 18 to form the coating having a predetermined shape and a predetermined thickness. The coating is brought into slide contact with the opposing member to receive a predetermined pressure, thereby exposing iron. Molybdenum and sulfur in the lubricating oil react with each other on an iron surface, so as to produce molybdenum disulfide having low friction coefficient and high hardness. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
