PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fire wall control unit and a control method to protect data recorded in a storage device for preventing unauthorized update, deletion and breakage of data. SOLUTION: A control unit is applied to a computer system which comprises a storage device and a processor. The storage device thereof is split into at least two virtual disks. The above control unit constituted of a first coupling device, a second coupling device and a signal processing device, can provide a data protection function to the storage device. In concrete terms, access to data having protection schedule is controlled by the above control unit by setting at first split of the virtual disk in the storage device by executing an allocation setting program, then, inserting the data in the storage device by executing a system insertion program, and finally, utilizing different use setting for each virtual disk by executing a data protection program.
