PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new porous plastic optical transmission body which is easily manufactured and is excellent in thermal resistance, flame retardancy, chemical resistance and solvent resistance and has a low transmission loss and a high transmission band-width and to provide its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: This porous plastic optical transmission body is composed of an amorphous polymer containing fluorine that does not contain a C-H bond substantially, and has a plurality of holes at least in a hollow pipe-like part that surrounds the axial center of the optical transmission body.
