<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily perform a character operation with a simple procedure in an information terminal device having a touch panel. <P>SOLUTION: In the information terminal device having the touch panel which is constituted by stacking a display device and a tablet, when a pen operation is inputted from the tablet (S11), its stroke is analyzed (S12), pen pressure is analyzed (S13), and positional relation between the stroke and the displayed character is analyzed (S14). The character of an operation object is specified by the positional relation between the stroke and the character, or the like (S15) to read out the type of a character operation to be executed from a table (S16). If the object character is decorated with the same character decoration as the readout character operation (S26), the character decoration is deleted from the object character (S27). If the same character decoration is not decorated, the object character is decorated with the character decoration (S28).
