<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent selvage turndown, selvage elongation and the occurrence of wrinkles by suppressing curling in a selvage of a film in a method for forming the film from a solution. <P>SOLUTION: A polymer is formed into the film by the method for forming the film from the solution, in which at least one holding roller 17 for suppressing the curling 11a in the selvage is installed between a position P for releasing holding from a tenter clip 13 and a conveying roller 18 which undergoes first contact after the point P. In the holding roller 17, the dimension of a length LR is a fifth of that of a film width W or below; an outside diameter d is ≥10 mm and ≤60 mm; and surface roughness Ry is 1.0 μm or above. The holding roller 17 is arranged at least on one side of the film 11, and the arrangement of the holding rollers 17 on both the sides of the film 11 can bring about greater effects. A distance LC between the centers of the holding rollers 17 in the traveling direction of the film 11, is set at ≥1.5 d and ≤8 d.
