PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an accommodating method for a columnar vessel subjected to a capacity decreasing process in a melting furnace whereby a larger columnar vessel can be used through the use of a simpler arrangement and accommodation in a drum can can be made safely while the risk of damaging is avoided. SOLUTION: The arrangement includes an upper lid 4 equipped with a fastener 41 having a larger diameter than the columnar vessel 3 and fastening a band 1 having small thickness when the columnar vessel 3 filled with various solid wastes is to be accommodated in the drum can 6 and a grip 42 at which a hook 5 of a crane is hitched, and the upper lid 4 is put on that columnar vessel 3 as object to be handled, and fastening with the fastener 41 of the upper lid is generated upon hitching the prepared band 1 in such a way as embracing from the bottom of the vessel 3, and the vessel 3 is transported to the position of the drum can upon hitching the hook 5 at the grip 42 of the upper lid and hanging up, and when it is accommodated in the drum can positioned upright, the band 1 is unfastened and the upper lid 4 is removed.
