PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for coating a component having a welded part capable of forming a coating film which has the ground color-hiding ability and has an excellent finished appearance with satisfactory operability even for the welded part. SOLUTION: The method for coating a component having the welded part includes a process of coating the component having the welded part by electrodeposition with a cationic electrodeposition coating composition , a process of coating the welded part which is not coated by electrodeposition after the electrodeposition coating by spraying the cationic electrodeposition coating composition which is compounded for thickening and a process of subjecting a coating film obtained by the electrodeposition coating and a coating film obtained by the spraying to baking hardening simultaneously. Therein, the cationic electrodeposition coating composition which is compounded for thickening contains a binder component in which the sum of the three kinds of resins described below is 100 wt.%, pigment having pigment volume % of 1-7% in the coating film and a hydrophobic solvent. The three kinds of resin are an amino group-containing epoxy resin, an amino group-containing acrylic resin and an aliphatic block polyisocyanate. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
