PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device capable of processing image conversion by a dither method in real time in the form of a transfer stream of image data inputted from outside as it is without increasing the processing load on a CPU. SOLUTION: Input image data consisting of a plurality of (n) bits inputted from outside via an interface means is converted into a plurality of (m) (m<n) bits, which are outputted to a display memory means to be stored there. A dither signal corresponding to a position where the input image data is specified with a row and a column on the display memory means is generated and added to the input image data, and the high-order (m) bits of the image data to which the dither signal is added are outputted to the image converting means for the conversion.
