PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small imaging module that can be made much smaller and more inexpensive than a conventional imaging device in portable electronic equipment such as a portable telephone having a camera function provided with a lens and an image pickup device. SOLUTION: A lens assembly comprises a lens 2 and a lens holder 4 for housing the lens 2. A lens adjusting part having a plurality of slopes is installed on the inner wall of a lens housing hole of the lens holder 4. A groove for fixture fitting is provided on the top surface of the lens 2, and a plurality of adjustment legs projecting toward a lower part are provided around the outer circumference of the bottom surface. The lens 2 is inserted into the lens housing hole, the plurality of adjustment legs of the lens are pressed against the plurality of slopes of the lens adjusting part, and the fixture is fitted into the groove for fixture to turn the lens. In this way, the lens is moved up/down, and focus adjustment of a solid-state image pickup device 6 is performed. The lens is fixed by using an adhesive or other means. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
