PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for specifying cross contact of a power line with a communication channel, which can rapidly and surely sense and locate the contact. SOLUTION: A signal from a communication channel is shunted via a test spring, and input to a light emitting unit 23. If this input signal is a call signal, the unit 23 flashes. If this signal is a howler signal, the unit 23 emits a light only for a predetermined continuous time. If the signal is a power signal due to the contact with the power line, the unit 23 continuously emits light.
