PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To acquire image data requested by a requesting source from an original image server system at a high probability and transmit the image data to the requesting source after converting the image data into a format which complies a format of the requesting source. SOLUTION: In downloading of the image data specified with a file name is requested by the requesting source A1, the image conversion server system B acquires image data from the original image server system C and transmits the image data to the requesting source A1 after converting the image data into the format which complies the format of the requesting source A1. Regardless of whether an extension is included in the file name or not, the image conversion server system B renames the file name by adding a predetermined extension and requests the image data with the renamed file name for the server system C (procedure 3). When the image data cannot be acquired from the server system C by the renamed file name, the file name is renamed by adding another predetermined extension and the image data is requested for the server system C by the renamed file name (procedure 4).
