PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bolt having the characteristic of requiring only a small amount of coolant and capable of being internally cooled with cooling fluid. SOLUTION: The bolt 1 includes a head 4, a shank 3, and a coolant flow passage 2 with an inflow opening 6a and an outflow opening 12. The coolant flow passage 2 does not axially penetrate the head 4 and the entire shank 3. Coolant flow is prevented from flowing axially throughout the bolt 1. In particular, the coolant is allowed to flow along the outer surface of the bolt 1 to achieve effective use of the coolant. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
