PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable the positioning of a solenoid case 6 to a switch case 10 and to make the outer diameter of the solenoid case 6 larger than a conventional one. SOLUTION: This electromagnetic switch 3 has the solenoid case 6 for housing a coil 7 in the inner part, and the switch case 10 for covering the outside of the solenoid case 6, the switch case 10 being integrally provided with a center housing. The solenoid case 6 has fitting recessed parts on the cylindrical outside surface along the longitudinal direction, the fitting recessed parts being arranged in four positions at equal circumferential intervals. The switch case 10 has fitting protruding parts on the cylindrical inside surface along the longitudinal direction, and the fitting protruding parts are fitted to the fitting recessed part provided on the solenoid case 6. According to such a structure, the solenoid case 6 can be positioned to the switch case 10 at a 90°-pitch in the circumferential direction. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
