PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a latch lock for automatically unlocking locked objects at a time by remote operation from a predetermined location, and for smoothly changing indoor air at the time of ventilation when the latch lock is applied to an openable window. SOLUTION: A latch 11 is urged by a helical compression spring 15 in the direction of approaching the openable window to lock it. A cam 17 is fitted to a rotary shaft 16, and a driving motor 10 makes the cam 17 come into sliding contact with a latch guard 13. When the driving motor 10 is energized by the operation of a main switch, the cam 17 rotates via the rotary shaft 16 while being in sliding contact with the latch guard 13. Consequently, the latch 11 releases its lock by displacing itself from its locking position to its unlocking position which is away from the openable window, while resisting the urging force of the helical compression spring 15.
