CUP-SHAPED ROTARY GRINDING WHEEL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce vibration and noise in grinding and to improve working efficiency of a soft material by reducing an impact when segment tips contact with a workpiece in a cup-shaped rotary grinding wheel of a segment type. SOLUTION: A cup-shaped base 11 is formed of a laminated base composed of a plurality of metal sheets to reduce the vibration and the noise of the base 11 and a rake angleθrelative to the outer circumferential direction of the base is formed on an upper part ridge 12a of a grinding wheel rotation direction front part of the segment tips. When the segment tips 12 contact with the workpiece, the whole part of the upper part ridge 12a of the segment chip is prevented from simultaneously contacting with the workpiece so as to greatly reduce the vibration and the noise. When the workpiece has rich elasticity, the segment tips 12 are prevented from being snapped so as to reduce the burden applied to a worker. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
