PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a core reactor having a gap for a welder which is easy to start arcing and which can stably maintain an arc even by infinitesimal current which has been heretofore difficult. SOLUTION: An auxiliary core 30 having a length equal to a length L of a gap (spacer 21) of the core 20 is disposed in the gap of the core 20. In this case, when a sectional area of the core 30 in a thicknesswise direction is set to 1/25-1/200 of the sectional area AB of the core 20 in the thicknesswise direction and the core 30 is disposed at a central part of the core 20 in the thicknesswise direction, it is effective.
