PHOTOCHROMIC MATRIX COMPOSITIONS FOR USE IN OPHTHALMIC LENSES

Photochromic compositions are disclosed herein. The compositions comprise mixtures of methacrylate monomers, which when polymerized, provide a polymer matrix that exhibits improved fading characteristics of incorporated photochromic dyes and good photochromic temperature stability. The compositions are particularly useful as a composite layer on polymerbased ophthalmic lenses.
