<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information recording and reproducing device for performing highly accurate wave front distribution control by an aberration correction means. <P>SOLUTION: The information recording and reproducing device records and reproduces information to/from an optical disk 8 by leading an emitted beam from an LD 1 through a polarized beam splitter 4, the aberration correction means and an objective lens 7 to the optical disk 8 and leading a return beam from the optical disk 8 through the objective lens 7, the aberration correction means, the polarized beam splitter 4 and a converging lens 9 to a photodetector 10. As the aberration correction means, a variable shape mirror 6 provided with a mirror surface part 11, a first electrode 12 provided in the entire area of the mirror surface part 11 and a second electrode 13 composed of a plurality of annular electrodes 13-1 - 13-3 provided so as to face the first electrode 12 is used. By respectively adjusting voltages to be applied to the respective annular electrodes of the variable shape mirror 6, the aberration correction of variably controlling a mirror surface shape and minimizing wave front aberration is performed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
