RARE EARTH ADDED OPTICAL FIBER, OPTICAL AMPLIFYING DEVICE AND LIGHT SOURCE UNIT, OPTICAL TREATMENT DEVICE USING LIGHT SOURCE UNIT, AND ALIGNER USING LIGHT SOURCE UNIT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rare earth added optical fiber which has higher output by suppressing nonlinear optical effect, an optical amplifying device and a light source unit which use it, and an optical treatment device and an aligner which use the light source unit.

SOLUTION: Parametric amplification by 4-light-wave mixing is suppressed by placing a variance value at an operating wavelength of 1.55 μm within a normal variance range, nonlinear optical effect other than the parametric amplification is suppressed by setting a mode field diameter MFD to ≥6 μm, a specific refractive index difference Δ to ≤1.5, or erbium density to ≥1,000 p.p.m., and a cutoff wavelength is set to ≥0.8 μm in consideration of bending loss.
