<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for easily researching constitution elements of map information which is frequently used in daily life. <P>SOLUTION: In a map information research assisting apparatus 100, a current position detecting means 102 detects the current position of a researcher. A map information output means 106 outputs map information together with the current position by using the current position detecting means 102 and a map information database referring means 104.
