PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a message communication system using digital wireless telephony suitable for transmitting messages in the form of a large amount of textual, video or voice information. SOLUTION: A mobile communication network is provided with a high capacity data transmission system 30 and an information providing system 70. The transmission system 30 is located between a mobile unit 11 and a host system and processes a transfer of a message which includes contents of data requested and acquired and conducts session controls for the mobile unit 11. The information providing system 70 constitutes a part of the host system, connects a request to an information provider, performs a protocol conversion for the acquisition of the contents under request, and performs the protocol conversion for the message transmission including the converted contents to the mobile unit 11.
