PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize an error distribution pattern freely and with high accuracy, an error amount with high accuracy and a very highly stable error without being affected by a reading device. SOLUTION: In a recording medium for an error correction capability test for testing the reading device of a recording medium recorded with an error correction code word, error correction encoded data are generated by applying error correction encoding to original data on the basis of a standard, and then, the error correction encoded data are recorded with an error added to the error correction encoded data.
