PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress surface injuries caused by collision between as photoreceptor drum and a transfer roller or the like adjacent to it due to oscillation, impacts, or the like during transportation. SOLUTION: The electrophotographic printer has a shaft 42 of a charging roller 32 engaged with first and second transfer roller slots 48 and 50 in such a way that the shaft 42 can be rotated/translated. Float cams 40a and 40b are attached to both ends of the shaft 42, and the float cams 40a and 40b are engaged with a photoreceptor drum 26 to form a gap 52 at the time of transportation. Because of the gap 52, collision between a charging roller 32 and the photoreceptor drum 26, which is caused by oscillation, impacts, or the like during transportation is avoided. When an electrophotographic printer is used for the first time after transportation, float cams 40a and 40b are automatically disengaged from the photoreceptor drum 26 in accordance with rotation of the photoreceptor drum 26, and the charging roller 32 and the photoreceptor drum 26 are brought into close contact with each other by energizing force of springs 34a and 34b to make the printer available.
