LCD PANEL AND ITS MANUFACTURING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a one-drop fill(ODF) type LCD panel which reduces the production of vacuum bubbles. SOLUTION: A first sealing member 7 divides a non-peripheral region storing liquid crystal. A second sealing members 6a-6d have a plurality of cracks 10 and divides the non-peripheral region into a display region 17 and a buffer region 12 which is communicated with the display region and passages. The gap between the substrates in the buffer region is larger than the gap between the substrates in the display region. The panel is formed by dropping liquid crystal droplets on the display region and joining the substrates. Excessive liquid crystal flows into the buffer region through the cracks from the display region. The buffer region is located within a black matrix region. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
