PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera which enables a photographer to carry out photographing operation even by either of right and left hands without addition of parts. SOLUTION: A left button 28L and a right button 28R are arranged in the positions symmetrical to the center line atop a camera body 12. When the photographer turns on a power source by pressing a power source button 24 while pushing the left button 28L, the left button 28L functions as a release button and the right button 28R functions as a menu/Ok button. Also, when the photographer turns on the power source by pushing the power source button 24 while pressing the right button 28R, the right button 28R functions as the release button and the left button 28L functions as the menu/Ok button.
