PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging device that enables a sharp image to be recorded even when the depth of field is deep and the focus is fixed, and can deter an image from being distorted owing to atmospheric fluctuations. SOLUTION: The imaging device is constituted by providing before eyes or an imaging camera (1) a telescope composed of a combination of an objective optical system using a convex lens, a concave mirror, or an optical element equivalent to the convex lens and an ocular optical system using a concave lens or an optical element equivalent to the concave lens or (2) a wavefront control plate controlling the shape of a wavefront while having characteristics such that the phase of a light wave is delayed with the distance from an optical axis and then the curvature of the wavefront of imaging light becomes small from the optical axis toward an opening end, or the phase of the light wave is delayed with the distance from the opening end to the optical axis and then the curvature of the wavefront of the imaging light becomes larger from the opening end toward the optical axis and also having a function of increasing the depth of field of the eye or imaging camera.
