PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a solid plating material which can plate not only base metals but noble metals and nonmetals as well to the surfaces of non-treated articles, is inexpensive and has high bonding strength to core particles and a solid plating material. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the solid plating material comprises a step of forming precoating layers on the surfaces of the core particles which constitute nuclei by spraying a precoating liquid of≤500 MPa s in viscosity prepared by adding a methacrylic acid-based copolymer at≤5mass% to an alcoholic solution and a normal step of forming the coating layers containing powder for plating on the surfaces of these precoating layers by spraying a mixed suspension composed of the coating liquid of the same quality as the quality of the coating liquid and powder for plating.
