PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a personal identification device capable of performing stable identification against the variation of input images and stably identifying a person without being influenced by an alike person even when extremely alike persons such as twins are registered. SOLUTION: The personal identification device provided with an image acquisition part 101, an identification dictionary storage part 13 and a similarity calculation part 104 and constituted so as to perform personal identification based on the face image of a person to be identified is provided also with an original dictionary/other dictionary determination part 105 and an original similarity/other similarity comparison part 106, so that not only similarity with the original dictionary but also similarity with the other dictionary is used for comparison.
