PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solenoid wherein remanent magnetism is instantly erased upon deenergization of the coil without reduction in magnetic attractive force. SOLUTION: The tip of a stationary iron core 12 is formed into an attractive surface 12c, and the attractive surface 13c of a movable iron core 13 is structured to be attractive. A V-shaped groove 20A is formed along the circumference of the attractive surface 12c of the stationary iron core 12. When the coil is in an energized state, the attractive surface 12c of the stationary iron core 12 and the attractive surface 13c of the movable iron core 13 are attached to each other with little gap in between. When the coil is deenergized, remanent magnetism is instantly erased thanks to the groove 20A dividing the attractive surface 12c of the stationary iron core 12. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
