PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a guard fence excellent in workability, simple in construction, executable in low costs, and further excellent in absorption of energy of falling rock. SOLUTION: A net 11 made of a synthetic resin is spread between posts 2L , and the posts 2L are tiltably erected. A counterfort rope device 61 is settled between the upper part of the post 2L and a slope face 101 of a mountain side Y. The superfluous part is set in the rope 62 of the rope device 61 and a buffer member 63 slidably holding the superfluous part is also set. Since the synthetic resin net 11 has a large elongation until the breakage, as compared with a steel net, when catching a falling stone, the net 11 extends to the other side and absorbs a shock. When a specified or larger force acts on the post 2L from the net 11 hit by a falling stone, the superfluous part slides against the buffer member 63 and the post 2L is tilted to the other side to absorb the energy of the falling stone.
