PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a size-adjusting mechanism of a helmet for obtaining a comfortable wearing feeling and preventing the slipping off of a band by closely adhering the end of the band and engaging part to a head part. SOLUTION: This size-adjusting mechanism of a helmet is provided by forming the band end 13 and the engaging part 14 of the head band as a circular shape having a center of curvature in upper direction on wearing against a plane of the band, installing projecting parts 13a on the surface of the band end 13 as an indented shape, mounting a buckle 20 engaging with the band end 13 at the engaging part 14, installing a movable piece 21 notched as U-shaped and having spring property on the upper surface of the buckle 20, projecting a nail part at the rear side of it and installing a releasing button 23 for releasing the engagement of the projected parts 13a with the nail part at the side surface of the buckle. On inserting the band end 13 towards the buckle 20 along a circular axial line and stopping the insertion, the nail part is engaged with the projected parts 13a at that position and the band end is restricted from going back in previous direction.
