PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface treatment apparatus usable easily and capable of performing surface treatment excellent in effect for anti-staining properties, polishing or the like. SOLUTION: The surface treatment apparatus 1 is equipped with pressure-resistant containers 15a and 15b housing a large number of particulates containing a powder of tourmaline, a pump 11 for making water flow in the pressure-resistant containers 15a and 15b from a water source and bringing the same into contact with the particulates to obtain ionized water and a nozzle 5a for ejecting this ionized water pressurized by the pump 11 toward a surface to be treated. Further, this apparatus is equipped with an ionizing flow channel 41 for connecting a water tank 13 for storing the water from the water source and the suction side of the pump 11 through the pressure-resistant containers 15a and 15b and a three-way changeover valve 11 for selectively opening and closing the bypass flow channel 40 for connecting the water tank 13 and the suction side of the pump 11 without interposing the pressure-resistant containers.
