PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for cutting agricultural crops to an even size, which can accurately and surely detect a boundary position between the unneeded portion and the needed portion of the agricultural crop to improve the detection accuracy and the cutting accuracy. SOLUTION: This apparatus for cutting the agricultural crops to an even size is used by irradiating the root portion Aa and stem portion Ab of a Welch onion A conveyed with a conveyer 2 with detection light B projected from an irradiation device 12, imaging with an imaging camera 13 the reflected light C in a wavelength range suitable for identifying a boundary position (cutting standard position) between the root portion Aa and the stem portion Ab from the wavelength region of reflected light C reflected from the root portion Aa and the stem portion Ab, judging and determining the boundary position (cutting standard position) between the root portion Aa and the stem portion Ab on the basis of the image information outputted from the imaging camera 13, and then cutting the prescribed portion of the root portion Aa of the Welch onion A on the basis of the judgment.
