PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To construct a firm retaining wall including safety after construction and prevent occurrence of fluctuation of a construction period, in a concrete retaining wall block for constructing a retaining wall by piling up blocks in a slope face of a river , a road, or a reclaimed land. SOLUTION: A concrete fixing hook 6 is integrally formed on the back face of a concrete rectangular parallelepiped block body 2. The fixing hook 6 is constituted of a fixing plate 6a and a leg 6b connecting the fixing plate 6a to the block body 2. The sectional area of the leg 6b of the fixing hook 6 is made smaller than the area of the fixing plate 6a. In this way, when many pieces of retaining wall blocks 1 are stuck, a clearance is generated at the periphery of the leg 6b of the fixing hook 6 of each retaining wall block 1 and these clearances are connected in all directions and a concrete filling space is formed in a lattice shape.
