A picking device of a weaving machine capable of reducing the consumed amount of compressed fluid, comprising one or more sub nozzle devices having sub nozzles and solenoid open/close valves connected to each other so that the compressed fluid is allowed to flow therein through pipes and in the relation of one nozzle to one valve, characterized in that the effective cross section of a fluid flow passage ranging from the fluid outlet of a fluid supply source to the sub nozzle side end part of the pipe, the effective cross section of the fluid passage ranging from the inlet port of the solenoid open/close valve to the output port of the solenoid open/close valve, the inside volume of the fluid flow passage ranging from the valve element side end part of the valve seat opening of the solenoid open/close valve to the input end of the sub nozzle, or the inside volume of the fluid flow passage ranging from the valve element side end part of the valve seat opening of the solenoid open/close valve to the output port of the solenoid open/close valve is specified within a specified range.
