A transition profile made from a composite metal material is provided between each of the side edges of the skip base (1) and the bottom edges of the skip side walls (2). The profile has a triple layer construction, comprising a first aluminium (alloy) outer layer, an intermediate layer of a material similar to aluminium and a second outer layer made from steel. The skip base side edge is fixed to the second outer layer and the side wall bottom edge is fixed to the first outer layer of the profile, preferably by welding.
