PURPOSE: An ingot throwing apparatus of hot dip galvanizing process is provided which improves quality of plated strip by preventing flowing of molten zinc layer and preventing damage of firebricks constructed on the bottom layer of plating pot when throwing a solid ingot into the plating pot in the hot dip galvanizing process. CONSTITUTION: In an apparatus for throwing a cubic ingot(11) into plating pot(2) of the hot dip galvanizing process, the apparatus comprises a transfer part comprising a transfer means for transferring the ingot to the plating pot side; a holding means installed on an upper part of the transfer means to horizontally hold the ingot; a horizontal moving means for horizontally reciprocating the holding means between the transfer part and the plating pot; and a vertical moving means for vertically reciprocating the holding means, wherein the holding means comprises a plier clamp(20) for clamping both end parts of the ingot, and an operating means for clamping or unclamping the plier clamp, and one end part of the operating means is fixed to the reciprocating means, and wherein one end part of the reciprocating means is vertically movably supported by the vertical moving means.
