PURPOSE: A method for manufacturing a diet beverage using an extract of lotus leaf, Alismatis Rhizoma, green tea, Coicis Semen and Aurantii Nobilis Pericarpium is provided. The product is excellent in palatability and easy to eat and can be used as a functional beverage for diet. CONSTITUTION: The diet beverage contains 70g lotus leaf, 10g Alismatis Rhizoma, 10g green tea, 5g Coicis Semen and 5g Aurantii Nobilis Pericarpium, based on 100L water. The extract of the above herbal plants, mixed with liquid fructose, vitamin C, citric acid(crystal) and synthetic preservatives and then aged to give the beverage. Crataegi Fructus can be used instead of Alismatis Rhizoma.
