<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus capable of reducing power consumption in a standby state, and capable of detecting the opening and closing of a cover of the image processing apparatus in the standby state while realizing a low cost. <P>SOLUTION: This image processing apparatus comprises a developer container for receiving a developer attachable/detachable to/from the main body thereof, an openable/closable cover for attaching/detaching the developer container to/from the main body, a control circuit for controlling image formation using a DC voltage generated by a low voltage power supply section as a power supply, a high voltage generating section for generating a high voltage from a DC voltage under the control of the control circuit, a mechanical switch for controlling on/off of the DC voltage according to the operation of the openable/closable cover, a state detecting means for sensing on/off of the mechanical switch, and a sensor means for detecting either the open state of the openable/closable cover or the presence of an original document to be read. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
