<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a medium from being in contact with a fixing part and to improve image quality. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus has: an image forming part which forms a toner image on a medium; a first medium conveying part which conveys a medium; a second medium conveying part, disposed downstream of the first medium conveying part in the direction of the conveyance of the medium, which further conveys the medium conveyed from the first medium conveying part; and a conveyance speed control processing means which relatively changes the speed of conveyance by each of the first and second medium conveying parts in correspondence with a distance by which the medium is moved from a predetermined reference position. In this case, the speed of the medium conveyance by the first medium conveying part and the speed of the medium conveyance by the second medium conveying part are relatively changed in correspondence with the distance by which the medium is moved from a predetermine reference position. Accordingly, even if the speed of the medium conveyance by the first medium conveying part is higher than that by the second medium conveying part, a large slack does not occur in the medium. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
