PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently manufacture a glass panel which is prevented from deterioration in heat-insulating performance with a high yield without especially increasing the thickness of the glass panel. SOLUTION: In a method of manufacturing the glass panel, the peripheral edge parts of a couple of glass sheets 1A, 1B with sheet surfaces opposed to each other at an interval are joined with a sealing material so as to form a gap section with the peripheral part sealed between the opposed both sheet surfaces 1A, 1B, then subjecting the glass sheets 1A, 1B to baking treatment comprising exhausting the inside of the gap section while heating the couple of glass sheets with peripheral edge parts joined to each other, and keeping the gap section at a reduced pressure state. The gap section is formed by mutually joining the peripheral edge parts of the couple of the glass sheets with the sealing material after subjecting each of the couple of the glass sheets to heat treatment before arranging the couple of glass sheets to oppose to each other.
