PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a loading and unloading unit capable of being easily installed on the second or higher floor of a building and compactly even in a small space, and attaining cost reduction. SOLUTION: This loading and unloading unit comprises four guide masts 12 erected on an installation space fore and aft and horizontally at appropriate intervals; right and left lift carriages 14 elevating using these guide masts 12 as a guidance; and a hydraulic lifter 22 disposed between the respective carriages 14 and the installation surface. Thus, the loading and unloading unit can be installed easily on the second or higher floor of the building, can be downsized in the height and width directions more than a conventional gantry mast type loading and unloading unit and can be manufactured at a lower cost.
