PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrasonic transducer capable of more efficiently transmitting / receiving an ultrasonic wave. SOLUTION: A horn 21 is configured to have an outer shape of nearly a truncated cone having an upper face of the same shape as that of an opening of a case 2 and a bottom face opening broader than the upper face, wherein the upper face is connected to the opening of the case 2 and a tube to be gradually expanded in diameter is spirally wound on the outer shape from the opening of the case 2 toward the bottom face of the horn 21 like a brass instrument. An end of the horn 21 at the bottom face side is open in the same direction as the opening of the case 2. Further, a joint of the horn 21 to the case 2 is open like a brass instrument, and the end of the tube with a smaller diameter is connected to the opening.
