The spark plug (A) has a coil region (3) with an insulator (5) with the primary winding of the coil (31) on the outside and the secondary winding on the inside. The spark plug tip region (2) has a small diameter tubular portion (51) with a shoulder (53) and electrodes (22) at the tip. The test sleeve (100) fits over the outside of the spark plug. It has a longitudinal slit to minimize losses from circumferential eddy currents. There is a screw nut (12) at the top, engaging a connection plug (200).
