摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light transmissive recording medium for a 2-layer recording by enhancing the cooling and a repetitive recording characteristic of the recording medium so as to double the recording capacity in comparison with that of a conventional one. <P>SOLUTION: In the rewritable recording medium comprising two stacked recording media, a first recording layer 101 is configured by stacking a first ZnS-SiO<SB>2</SB>layer 102, a Ge-Sb-Te layer 104, and a second ZnS-SiO<SB>2</SB>layer 106 whose major constituent materials are each material of the layers and a first reflection layer 107, and a second recording layer formation 201 adopts the similar layer configuration of the first recording layer except the first reflection layer. An intermediate reflection layer 108 and a separation layer 109 are stacked between the two layers, recording is made with the power of a laser beam within a rage of 4mW to 10mW, and a ratio t/T1 of a thickness t of the intermediate reflection layer to a thickness T1 of the first recording layer is selected to be within a range of 0.2 to 1. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
