<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image input-output device etc., that can distinguishably extract the original data section of an original and a handwritten memo section formed by adding handwritten data in the original data section, and can only selectively output the original data section, handwritten memo section, or both the original data and handwritten memo sections. <P>SOLUTION: The image input-output device decodes code information added to the original, and extracts the original data of the original preserved in advance in a preserving means based on the decoded code information. Then the device discriminates the original data section of the original from the other additionally written data section of the original, by discriminating the difference between the extracted original data and the image data of the original read by means of an image reading means by comparing both data with each other.
