<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color image processing apparatus capable of making conversion among a plurality of color systems at low cost. <P>SOLUTION: The color image processing apparatus is provided with: a table (1) circuit 5; a matrix arithmetic circuit 6; a table (2) circuit; and an arithmetic circuit 8. In converting the RGB color system into the sRGB color system, an MPU 9 can set inverse gamma correction data of a device to the table (1) circuit 5, a matrix X×M to the matrix arithmetic circuit 6, and gamma correction data to the table (2) circuit 7. Further, in converting the RGB color system into the L*a*b* color system, the MPU 9 uses a RAM 11 and can set the inverse gamma correction data of a device to the table (1) circuit 5, a matrix X to the matrix arithmetic circuit 6, a cubic root arithmetic operation to the table (2) circuit 7, and a subtraction of 16 from the L* components to the arithmetic circuit 6. In converting the RGB color system into other second color systems, the color image processing apparatus can share its hardware for the color system conversion. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
