<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing device which reduces consumption power in a standby state, is produced at a low cost and makes it possible to detect opening/closing of the cover of the image processing device during the standby state. <P>SOLUTION: The image processing device has a developer container attachable/detachable to/from a main body, an opening/closing cover operated for attaching/detaching the developer container to/from the main body, and a power source which uses a DC voltage generated by a low-voltage power source. The device further has: a control circuit which controls image formation; a high voltage power source which generates a high voltage from a DC voltage under control by the control circuit; a mechanical switch, connected between the low-voltage power source and the high-voltage power source; which controls turning on/off of a DC voltage depending on the operation of the opening/closing cover; a state detection means which detects the on/off state of the mechanical switch; and a sensor means which detects the opening of the opening/closing cover or the presence/absence of developer in the developer container. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
