PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a traveling route generation device which can continue an automatic steering control when the state in which the route is missed intermittently continues and ensure enough time for a driver to respond even when the state in which the route is missed continues. SOLUTION: The traveling route generation device 12 is provided with a scene vector string recognition means 14 that recognizes a vector string, which connects characteristic points in an imaging scene, as the scene vector string; a route reproduction data computing means 15 which computes positional/directional relations between the recognized scene vector string and a fixed route as the route reproduction data; a fixed route recognition determining means 13 which determines whether the fixed route is recognized; and a fixed route presuming means 16 which presumes the location/posture of the fixed route on the basis of the scene vector string thus recognized and route reproduction data thus computed.
